Taking our assessments

We offer two kinds of assessments on the DTS site, Lectical Assessments, which are designed to capture the complexity and integration of your thinking in particular knowledge areas, and survey assessments, which are designed to capture biases, attitudes, beliefs, and dispositions. We strongly recommend that you use Lectical Assessments with the support of a mentor/teacher/counselor/coach who has a solid understanding of learning and development. Unlike Lectical Assessments, which are best used with support, our surveys and their feedback can be used more casually, as part of a playful exploration of your personal biases, attitudes, beliefs, and dispositions. We encourage you to hold the results of surveys lightly, using them as a starting place for personal exploration and discussion.

In addition to offering assessments, we host instruments that are being used in research. These may or may not be accompanied by feedback. We appreciate your participation in these projects, which allow us to learn more about how people develop skills, dispositions, and knowledge over time.

Working hours

The offices of DTS are open between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Phone & Skype policy

DTS employees phone or skype by appointment only. We prefer making appointments by email.

Scoring & commenting assessments

It takes an average of 7-10 business days to score, comment, and finalize a Lectical Assessment. We will advise you in advance if the process is likely to take longer. If you occasionally require a shorter delivery time, let us know and we will do our best to provide a shorter turnaround. If you will be needing a shorter turnaround on a regular basis, we will have to make special arrangements.

Scoring break

We take a scoring break from July 15th - August 15th each year. This gives us time to use what we have learned over the course of the year to update assessments and reports.

Feel free to contact us for further information.
